I mean seriously, you know you have found an Awesome Editor Friend when you find yourself cheering her on as she demolishes a sextub left behind by her landlord. Then when she finds a mummified rat under it, she emails you a picture and that solidifies your now very awesome, yet twisted friendship.
See? That girl is exactly my kind of crazy and I'm really happy to be working for her!
So anyways, today for your viewing pleasure, why don't you all pop over to the Catster and Dogster sites and take a little peek at how the strangness that is Eden Strong is slowing spreading over Internet Land.
If you're in the mood for a little goofy humor, "Six Things NOT To Do While Bathing Your Cat" might be right up your ally. For this article I actually called my friend and with no explanation whatsoever asked "hey, can I come over and Saran Wrap your cat?" Because she is my friend, without an explanation whatsoever, she was like like "sure, when do you want to come?
While you are over there, feel free to check out a few of my other articles for kicks and giggles.
If dogs are more your thing, pop on over to Dogster and you can read about the time I tried to rescue a teeny tiny little chihuahua and what ensued was a nothing short of a comedy turned war zone. If comedy isn't your thing, there is also a disturbing pet store expose.
If furry creatures aren't really your thing altogether, but you are prone to cohabitating with the small human variety of creatures, I have a few articles up over at Lifetime Moms that might interest you.
If none of those interest you, well then good luck because I'm out of idea's.

Before I go, I'm trying to utilize my Facebook page a little more so that I can interact with you guys a little better, so if you wouldn't mind heading over there and "liking" the Not My Shame to Bear page, that would be amazing!!
Well, that's all for now.
Ta Ta!
That cat article cracked me up. Very funny. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a chihuahua/dachshund mix. He can be...let's just say feisty. We adopted him from the shelter and he only weighed 4 pounds. We could see his ribs. He was clearly TERRIFIED. So we used all those ooey-gooey sing-songy voices with him for a few weeks and he calmed down a bit.
But he still get scared sometimes and he hates strangers. The little dogs are sometimes the most terrifying dogs. And no matter how small they appear, they are ALWAYS a lot faster than you expect them to be!
Um, I hate to sound naïve and ignorant (unsophisticated?) but WHAT is a "sextub"? (I.e., left behind by a landlord, complete with a dead rat underneath?) ?????
ReplyDeleteIt was an old hot tub that was "partied" in and I guess a bunch of rats had taken up residence underneath it!
DeleteFor those of you looking for the comments that were here, I deleted them because the argument was taking over the entire comments section and this is not a place for people to be tearing people down. So as to not censor out only a certain group, I deleted all the comments, not just the one's hating on me.
ReplyDeletePlease read the cat bath article for what it was; a humorous piece meant to give you a good laugh. The entire post was so outright obviously a joke that I didn't think that I needed to explain to people that it was a joke. I unfortuntately did have the experiences of #1-6, but the end was a joke people.
So, I will now point out some facts.
#1. Don't saran wrap your cat. Ever. Just don't do it.
#2. To the person whole started this whole fiasco, Yes, I was referring to myself as the type of pet owner that I am, not my current pet ownership status. I am a pet owner that raises lazy cats. As you can see I referred to them in past tense saying they "were like two teenage boys, refused to groom themselves, they just laid around...." and so on. No, I was not trying to pass off a lie that I NOW own cats, I thought I was fairly clear that the two I was speaking of were in the past tense.
Yes, I said "im off to brush my cats teeth" at the end because hello, the end of the article was so obviously a joke I can't imagine anyone would have been taking that seriously.
Thank you for the people that stepped to "WK" me as the trolls define it and to the people who had a problem with the article, well, sorry, I can't really help you with that. Maybe just don't read it again??
I find it crazy that the people like Irene who come here day after day, can only find negative things to say. If they haven't learned one thing from this blog, not ONE thing that might help them to be a better human being, than maybe they need to take a hard look at themselves. Coming back here everyday to try and prove someone a fraud, someone that they don't even know, just because they feel like the rest of her readers (which I guess would include me) are stupid, that is really sad.
DeleteFirst off, don't call me stupid, which is what you are essentially doing when you come here everyday to warn everyone that Eden is a fraud. Let us use our own judgment.
Next, why do you feel like it is your job to "bring her down?" You have read her entire story, do you really only have negative things to say? Why are you so invested in one person on the internet? If you hate her, go away. Would anything ever satisfy you? There is nothing that she is going to give you that is going to prove she is telling the truth unless she reveals her identity. So what is your game plan? Come here every single day until you think you have found something? Is that like a weird twisted hobby? Don't you have anything better to do with your time? Really, I am curious. What do you feel like you need to get out of this, why are you so invested?
I like this safe place. I like being able to come here and feel open. I don't want people like you making it hard for the rest of us to open up.
Just go away and let the rest of us heal, please. Let us decide for ourselves to trust Eden. We don't need you.
I've actually been watching this comment thread all morning. I guess I'm what you might call an obsessive lurker, but I couldn't agree more with the above comment.
DeletePersonally, I don't care who the hell Eden is. She could be a 50 year old man for all that it matters to me (which I would highly doubt based on the consitancy of her pictures). The only thing that matters is that she is teaching me about myself. Her insights are spot on, I like her outlook and messages, and reading this blog has taught me so much about myself.
I don't know why you care so much who she is, I don't.
I didn't see any of the previous comments, but maybe that's for the best. I'm with RJW and Anonymous above. Whoever it was (Irene? I've noticed her badgering you in the past) must have no life if he/she feels the need to come here just to bring down a complete stranger.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, why? Even if you were a 50-year-old man sitting in your mother's basement (which for the record, I don't believe for a second), who cares? Why not let this page be what it is - a safe place for people to gather and chat and discuss their struggles and triumphs in their lives?
I'll never understand why trolls feel the need to police people and bring others down.
Exactly!
DeleteWho knew that washing cats could be such a hot topic! Hahaha! I have a hard time finding the agenda hidden in such a topic but I have never been one to buy into conspiracy theories.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I know right!?
DeleteShhh...don't tell anyone if you figure it out....
Are you sure that "Irene" isn't your mother or one of your brothers or somebody? (A personal female "frenemy" maybe?) She sure invests a lot in hassling you (for being a supposed stranger...)??? Just wondering!
ReplyDeleteThat would be pretty weird! Yea, I don't get the investment that they have either. Oh well, to each their own. I guess when people get bored enough....even a hobby that they hate is still a hobby.....
DeleteMy, my, Eden...Never a dull moment! I didn't see any of the comments that were deleted (nor did I check any of your links out right now - just trying to catch up on the blogs I missed). What comments I am glad to see are the supportive ones here now. I am happy to be part of your community, where positive reigns!
ReplyDeleteNow, for that mummified rat! Yowsers! That could be in a museum. It's absolutely perfectly mummified :)
TTFN!
Ha, isn't the rat crazy!? I got a good laugh out of it!
DeleteWell, I kinda felt sad for it at first...but then I thought, what a way to go...being so well preserved...like I said, it could be in a museum! It could leave a legacy behind, really.
